is an organization that aims to amplify the effectiveness of extension systems globally by combining technology and social organization. Digital Green collaborates with partners working with rural communities and provides video production and dissemination trainings to identified rural community members such as government appointed community health workers (ASHAs). These ASHAs are then empowered to produce and share contextualized, localized videos that showcase a community member applying a best practice. Approved videos are shared through pre-existing social group platforms such as mother's groups and on Village Health and Nutrition Days (VHNDs) as well as other platforms such women's self-help groups, shared using portable, battery-operated pico projectors and speakers.
To support a continuous process of iteration and monitoring, Digital Green has developed a robust technology platform that tracks metrics necessary for evaluating and adapting the videos and programming. The platform, which has been designed to function under conditions of intermittent power supply and Internet connectivity (Connect Online Connect Offline), features an open-access suite of analytics dashboards. Careful data management allows Digital Green to track the location of each video screened, the mediator who presents the video at each screening, the groups/members who have viewed each video, those who have asked questions about the practices, and those who have ultimately adopt practices shown.
