HealthPhone: Early Breastfeeding - No Honey - Sakhi Dadi - Hindi

UNICEF, WHO and WABA along with the scientific community strongly recommend initiating breastfeeding within a half-hour of birth.

Evidence shows that early initiation can prevent 22% of all deaths among babies below one month in developing countries.

Within a half-hour of birth, the mother's thick, first milk (Colostrum) should be given to the child. It's very essential.

Honey is a raw food and has all the dangers to health that raw foods pose. During breastfeeding it is best to make sure that the child does not consume any honey.
