Children who are slow in understanding, focusing, and tire easily or fall ill frequently could be exhibiting symptoms of malnutrition.

The purpose of this video is to create awareness about the symptoms and alarming consequences of malnutrition. It addresses the importance of balanced nutrition and health.

It is intended for the community at large.

The Story:

A little boy comes home from school and removes his school bag dejectedly from his shoulders. The mother who is busy with her house chores asks him how he did in his exams. The little boy holds his face in his hands in shame and starts to cry. The mother runs to him and holding him tenderly asks him what happened. The boy tearfully confides that everyone in school call him "Buddhu" (Fool) and he cannot follow and grasp what is being taught in school.

The concerned mother asks the child if he had not been studying properly. The boy still sobbing says that his teacher says that he will always remain a fool. The mother holds the child in her arms and consoles him by saying that no one dare call him that and she will scold everyone.

Children who are slow in understanding, focusing, and tire easily or fall ill frequently could be exhibiting symptoms of malnutrition.

Malnutrition is lack of right nutrition. A child is specially most prone to the dangers of malnutrition from the time of its conception till two years of its age which is very important period for the overall growth. Today, nearly every second child in India is a victim of malnutrition. It means they are physically and mentally weak due to which they are targets to many ailments, deformities, disabilities and allergies affecting normal growth mentally and physically. So we should jointly wage a war against malnutrition.
